TRANSNATIONAL MIGRATION PROCESS AND AGING : FIRST GENERATION TURKISH IMMIGRANTS IN GERMANY

Concerning about immigrants people who is in the old age term which is complex and multidimensional phenomenon the process of aging gains original dimension; migration-receiving countries requires the reshaping of social policy that covers older immigrants. First-generation immigrants in Western European countries with the articulation of the aging process start from the end of the 1980s 'migration and aging'issue has been the subject of research on immigration in Germany that hosting receive immigrant population. The structure of the immigrant Turkish community is always in the transformation process, the birth rate has gradually declined, the number of elderly increases. 1960s and 1970s, in the first stage of migration movements, who immigrated to Germany from Turkey is now set period of retirement and old age. The research data regarding the return of the first generation of the majority that it takes a transnational life and elders spent their time in this term hovering between Germany and Turkey. In terms of basic dimensions of the said development has important consequences for the migration process. In this study, the first generation of transnational, is discussed on the basic aspects of aging.
