Despite their prohibition by celestial and some human laws, people produced many different fortune tellings and horoscopes in the name of learning future in any century and in any case, and they used them in case of need. One of the prediction type which is used grounds on the base of The Twelve-Animals Turkish Calendar. According to the thoughts of the users of The Twelve-Animals Turkish Calendar, which we think that it has been formed through some cyclic phenomenons in universe, some of the years designate discrepancy from others in some aspects such as yield of harvest, expense, health, disease, security, etc. which is geared to the condition of warmth, coldness and precipitation, and these discrepancies repeat every other twelve years periodicaly. This means that years get out the same things to the people’s way every other twelve years. With the effects of these thoughts some prophesies appeared among various Turkish communities. These predictions we encountered the first examples in the Divanü Lügati’t-Türk (The First Comprehensive Turkish Dictionary) was written in Turkish or Persian subsequently, and especially became widespread in the period of Ottoman. In Turkish texts which were written by different people as a verse and prose, precedingly the predictions are listed which was about how the year would pass, then the informations about the physical and mental characteristics of the children who would be born in the same year and their future are given.
