STAKEHOLDERS IN STRATEGIC CITY MANAGEMENT: AN EXAMINATION OF MISSION STATEMENTS OF CITIES

Strategic planning is one of the contemporary tools used in city management. Moreover, definition of a mission is significant step in strategic planning process. It is observed that various stakeholders are considered while defining mission statements within strategic planning. The reason is both there are many parties interacting with the city and local authorities in the city target many stakeholder groups. In this meaning, the aim of study is to examine the mission statements of cities, which are metropolitan municipality,with content analysis and to identify what kind of stakeholders take part in current mission statements
