HALAL TOURISM CONCEPT AND AN EVALUATION ON APPLICATIONS OF HALAL TOURISM IN TURKEY

The most important factor affecting the consumer behavior that guides individuals in satisfying the touristic needs is the values they believe in. Tourism has become a necessity as a result of recent developments such as economic prosperity, stressful life, desire to rest and the concept of halal tourism has emerged as a result of the desire and demand of individuals who have Islamic sensitivity to satisfy these needs according to Islamic methods. With this study, it has been tried to form the conceptual framework of halal tourism by reviewing the literature. Moreover, it has tried to express Turkey's position in halal tourism market. In this context, although there are many definitions in the field of halal tourism, it is possible to define it as the realization of tourism activities by individuals according to Islamic orders and prohibitions. It also provides halal tourism development in the field of studies in Turkey in recent years. As a result, in the field of halal tourism, it is possible to say that Turkey will take a more active role in the world in the coming period.
