This study aims to explore inhabitants’ awareness about Erzurum’s architectural heritage that were produced in different periods of history. Additionally, differences between the awareness about architectural heritage of the research’s sample categorized into 3 groups due to their relationship with architecture and hence architectural heritage are also determined. To achieve its aim, in the context of the research, interviews were conducted with 248 habitants, who were divided into 3 groups as man in the street, professionals (architects, city planners and landscape architects) and students of Faculty of Architecture and Design at Atatürk University. Through this way, qualitative data has been collected for the use of this exploratory case study.
At the end, Twin Minaret Madrasa, Yakutiye Madrasa and Jump Towers were founded out as the most cited structures among all respondents. Moreover, Twin Minaret Madrasa that has been accepted as symbol of Erzurum was the most cited structure among all respondent groups separately.
