The body is a sociological phenomenon as well as biological. From the primitive societies to the big empires, the body has been redesigned throughout the civilisation starting from monotheistic religion in Pagan belief. Besides its duties such as being mature, transition to manhood, being blessed and sense of belonging, it has also been done for only beauty.In our world where traditional things are left slowly ,tattoo is serving to many aims such as forming a personality , underlining ego or representing contradictions. Tattoo which takes the attention of the researchers with its symbolic dimension that is open to comment, it has found an application area in the parts of contemporary art like cinema ,photograph and performance. In this study, the examples of beauty and art were examined with emphasis on the versatility of the purpose of the tattoo.
