WORKING WOMEN’S TENDENCY TO READ THE LABELS OF FOOD PRODUCTS –THE SAMPLE OF İSTANBUL

This research was carried out in order to determine whether the packaging of the product influences the purchasing behavior of women when choosing a food product. The research is composed of 185 women working in ?stanbul as officers, lawyers and servants. As a result of the research, in food purchasing behaviors of women; all three professions are responsible for ensuring that the packaging is damaged, whether the product is a noticeable deterioration of the product or not, the product's production permit, the ingredient it contains, the status of being certified, the presence of Turkish products, the content of allergen, the name of the company, and the readability of label information is very effective. The fact that the product was certified, the size of the product, the health information on the package, and the misleading information on the packaging showed a significant difference in all three occupational groups (p <0,05)
