The ayans, who played the role of bridge between the government and local community and represented a social community by precluding the administrators sent by the government at the regions at which they were present in different places of both Anatolia and Rumelia after the 18th century, had some crucial roles in the way of the voivodship, mütesellimlik, muhass?ll?k, and even governorship under the political control of the province, and they also got the social and economic prestige in their regions with the titles such as taxman, farm owner, and founder of a foundation. In this regard, some ayans having prestige and fortune were profoundly influential in administration of the Karahisar-? Sahib as in most other regions. Sahib Sanjak and his asset in his heritage prepared after his death, heritage is classified and investigated. At the same time, Turunçzade Dede Mustafa Bey, who had the duty of the representativeship of that sanjak was executed by Sert Mahmut Pasha the governor of Karahisar-? Sahib on March 28, 1816 and his head was sent to ?stanbul after being complained with some claims of his cruelty to public like his father’s cruelty and illegal tax collection. Despite reaching to 120.495 kurus, his inheritance that could not cover his debt was confiscated by the government. The main source of the current study is Turunçzade Dede Mustafa Bey’s heritage record registered with document no 123 in the Registry book numbered 560 within Afyonkarahisar ?er'iyye Records. The heritage record arranged after his execution involves Mustafa Bey’s possessions including his movable and immovable properties, money, income, cereals, livestock, concubine and the goods in his house.
