TRANSLATIONS OF THE HOLY QURAN IN CZECH LANGUAGE AND THEIRS EVALUATION

The Glorious Qur’an has been translated in many foreign languages including the Czech, one of Slavic languages. ?slamic approach to translatability of Qur’an will be in this paper evaluated and compared with approach to translations of Bible in Christianity. Besides the oldest and partial translation/polemic, there exist three translations in Czech. In this paper, history of translations of Qur’an into Czech as well as characteristics of these translations will be presented. Opinions about form, language, style and accuracy of translations prepared by VESELÝ, NYKL and HRBEK will be submitted. Besides this intention of these translations and theirs current usability will be noticed.
