Rene Magritte who was born as a child of bourgeois, at the first time starts to do paintings under the influence of Giorgio de Chirico. Artist who discovered Chirico's poetic world, later with using objects wants people to become aware that canvas is only a representation. The end of 1920’s he begins to add words in his paintings. Here he brings face to face the images and words. According to him, because its language is visual, It indicates a meaning beyond what it depicts. It indicates a meaning beyond what it depicts.
