THE VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY OF THE TURKISH VERSION OF THE SOCIAL MEDIA USE INTEGRATION SCALE

The aim of this study is to examine of valitidy and reliability of the Turkish version of theSocial Media Use IntegrationScale (SMUIS; Jenkins-Guarnieri, Wright, & Johnson, 2013). The sample of this study consisted of 247 university students. Fit index values of thetwo-dimensionalsocial media use model were: x 2= 74.92, df= 31, RMSEA= .076, NFI= .93, NNFI= .94, CFI= .96, IFI= .96, GFI= .94, SRMR= .049. Cronbach alpha internal consistency reliability coefficients were .87for total scale, .87 for social integration and emotional connection subscale, and .71 for integration into social routines subscale. The corrected item-total corraletions ranged from .31to .76. Over all findings show that this scale had high validity and relibiality scores.
