THE USE OF TULIP RELATED TO TOBACCO IN CLASSICAL TURKISH POETRY AND AN EXAMPLE OF THIS USE IN NABI

Precious stones have been used in the making of ornaments and jewelry materials since ancient times, and sometimes seen as a source of healing in health-related situations. All these features have enabled the stones to be taken care of by people in every period and the stones to be a part of social life. Social life and one of the elements belonging to this life, stone ring, has found itself a very wide and detailed place in the meaning world of classical Turkish poetry; It was a material used in the poetry of classical Turkish literature poets, whose era and society adopted all kinds of feelings, thoughts, beliefs and values.In this study, the definition of the ringlet and various names given to this stone, the properties of the stone, its historical development and commercial importance will be explained. In addition, information will be given about the countries where meerschaum was extracted, the cities where it was extracted in our country and the items made of this stone. Then, in the classical Turkish poetry of the ringlet, the use of tobacco and water, other than the meaning of the hair ringlet, will be emphasized and the ringlet rediferous gazelle used by Nabi in terms of tobacco will be examined.
