Abstract

Author(s): Hasene AYDIN

It is seen that the intertextuality is usually approached as interactions between the works of different authors in the studies about intertextuality. But it is appeared that common topics and expressions between texts are determined and these also must be evaluated within the context of intertextuality with the comperative evaluation of different works of same author. From this point of view it is believed that the intertextuality can also make clear the tense which is not given distinctly in a text. Oktay Akbal’s stories are taken with this perspective in this study and the usage of intertextuality as a tense determining element is examined. Benefiting from the tips which are presented in the context of intertextuality in analysises tense provide to be able to make sense the tense concept which doesn’t become clearer with the elements like tense suffixes, adverbs of time, tense describing words, text context etc. in the text.
