THE STUDIES ABOUT HEALTH TOURISM WHICH IS CARRIED OUT IN TURKEY AND INDEXED IN WOS

The number of studies on health tourism is increasing day by day. It is important to analyze current situation about Turkey based studies which is indexed in Web of Science (WOS). The aim of this study is to examine health tourism studies which is carried out in Turkey and indexed in Web of Science. For this purpose, the Web of Science databases (SCI Expanded, SCI, SSCI, AHCI) from 1970 to2018 is examined in terms of Turkey addressed studies on health tourism. It was found that there were 16 studies on health tourism carried out in Turkey. It was seen that 13 of the studies were the research article, 3 were the conference paper. The first work was published in 2007. It was found out that the authors contributing to these studies were mostly from the "tourism" departments (n = 9). Quantitative methods (n = 6) were generally used as research method. The total number of WOS citations to 16 work, form 2007 was 57. In conclusion, the number of publications on health tourism and also the number of citations, which is an indicator of scientific quality and scientific development, is also very low.
