Abstract

Author(s): Ramazan BİÇKİN

We can evaluate the security concepts of individuals with special needs (hearing impaired, visually impaired, physically handicapped, mentally handicapped and citizens with similar ailments) and other individuals under some basic headings; we can think of the safety of the people - the safety of the society - the security of the economic situation - the safety of healthy living conditions and the safety of living spaces. When the expansions of these concepts are analyzed, possible threats to human security are observed (disasters, violence, terrorism, inter-ethnic conflicts, unemployment, extortion, diseases, environmental pollution and others). These titles are mentioned in the social life areas, some measures that are thought to be taken to minimize the risks in the lives of individuals with special needs. The importance of using search and rescue dogs has been mentioned when faced with disasters such as earthquake and fire.
