Abstract

Author(s): Tuna AYRAL, Abdurrahman TANRIÖĞEn

This research aims to determine the relationship between school administrators 'management philosophies and school transparency according to teachers' perceptions. In the research, relational scanning model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used. The sample of the research consists of 403 teachers who are working in U?ak City Center and selected by simple random sampling method. Considering the results of the study, it was seen that school administrators were closer to the Y theory than the management philosophies developed by Douglas McGregor. It was observed that school administrators were transparent and the highest transparency was in the "transparency in practice" sub-dimension. One of the management philosophies, X theory is not a significant predictor of school administrators' school transparency; Theory of Y was found to be a significant predictor of school transparency. It can be said that when school principals adopt the characteristics of Douglas McGregor's theory Y and their behavior in this direction increases, school transparency levels may also increase.
