THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PERSONNELS’ MEANING IN WORK AND PSYCHOLOGICAL HARDINESS: AN EXAMPLE IN EDUCATION SECTOR

The mankind is a natural meaning seeker,and individuals does not only seek meaningfulness in their private life but also seek in their work .Teaching is one of the most meaningful occupation .But it is generally accepted that teaching also naturally is one of the most stresfull occupation.In this study we tried to determine the relationship between meaning and purpose in work and psychological hardiness of teachers. Relational screening and accidential sampling model were used in the study.The universe of the study are teachers working in Esenyurt and Arnavutköy/?stanbul.In order to collect data we used “Psychological hardiness scale” devoloped by I??k (2016) and adapted “meaning and purpose of work scale” by Ayd?n et all., (2015). After the factor,reliability and correlation analyses we found that there is a positive relationship between “the meaning and purpose of work” and “self-motivation”.Besides it was observed that there is a positive relationship between “purpose of work” and “psychological hardiness
