THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MENTAL TRAINING SKILLS AND MENTAL RESISTANCE LEVELS IN ORIENTING SPORTSMEN

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of orienteering athletes' mental training skills on mental durability levels. Total 189 sportsmen the inclusion of 60 women-129 men who participated 2018-2019 season in Turkey Orienteering Shampionships actively participated in the research .In the data collection; "Sporda Zihinsel Dayan?kl?l?k Envanteri" that were developed by Sheard and his friends (2009) ,was adapted to Turkish by Alt?nta? and Bayar Koruç (2016),"Sporda Zihinsel Antrenman Envanteri" and "Ki?isel Bilgi Formu" that were developed by Behnke and his friends (2017) ,was adapted to Turkish by Yarayan and Ilhan (2018) were used in research. In the analysis of the data; Pearson Correlation Analysis was used to determine the relationships between the variables, and the role of mental training skills scores in determining the level of mental stability was used by the Simple Linear Regression analysis method.The results of the study indicates that mental training skills of orienteering sportsmen are meaningful predictor about mental durability levels. According to this, it can be said that as the mental training components increase, mental endurance levels increase in orienteering athletes.
