THE REFLECTION TO THE GYPSIES IN OTTOMAN SOCIETY IN THE LIGHT OF ÇİNGENELER BY OSMAN CEMAL KAYGILI AND ÇİNGENE BY AHMET MİDHAT EFENDİ

Although there are some inconveniences in the technical way inside of “Çingeneler” novel by Osman Cemal Kayg?l?, it is quite important that it has some particular period and some people inside. Especially, the way of living, traditions, musical styles of Gypsies and in ?stanbul’s that period is showing themselves as whole way to the reader in a sociological way. At the same time “Çingene” novel by Ahmet Midhat Efendi shows some resemblances with the “Çingeneler” by Osman Cemal Kayg?l? and it is very important about showing the outlook on Gypsies from the people of that period. Ahmet Midhat Efendi set the tone in this novel too, as he does in the other novels of his as well and here also inculcates the reader about approaching to the Gypsies. In this study, from those two novels which are forementioned will be examined in the period of Ottoman, will be indicated how the people of that period see the Gypsies according to literary compositions. In terms of literary and society relations, efforts about changing this view by authors will be evaluated.
