THE PROBLEMS OF RADIO BROADCASTING AND SOLUTIONS TO THEM IN THE 25TH YEAR OF RADIO PRIVAZITATION IN TURKEY

Radio which started to broadcast in 1926 with a private entrepreneur company had faced from different stages. Radio which had its activities under the state departments in its first years had been cooperated with the establishment of TRT. Radio broadcasting was under the monopoly of TRT until the 90s which private radio stations start to be on air. After this period radio market changed to a competitive market. Radio broadcast had continued its facilities for a quarter century from 1990 till 2015 in a high competitive market. Private radio broadcast which has a quarter century background in Turkey has disadvantages as well as advantages. In this study there has been conducted a descriptive research on the problems faced in the Turkish radio industry. In the beginning of the study there has been a conceptual research about radio broadcasting, its historical background and its stages. In the second part of the study there has been a research about the previous studies done about the problems of radio industry. In the research part of the study there has been conducted a questioner to the radio producers from 111 radio stations in Turkey, and problems they faced in the radio industry has been recorded. In the conclusion of the study the problems of private radio stations had been categorized in seven headlines and there has been some advices for solution to these problems.
