Abstract

Emergency call services, an important public service directly related to the right of life. In Turkey, a system change is experienced in the field of services in conjunction with the European Union (EU) harmonization process. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the widely used and currently available system and the pilot phase of system changes, from the point of view of ambulance staff. In the current call system, inter-agency coordination in providing emergency aid, technical and physical infrastructure of emergency call system seems insufficient. Single Number Emergency Call System applied in the EU integration process and seen as opportunity to improve the system applications, expectations are generally optimistic about the prospects but application is lower in the pilot project continued in Antalya. The results obtained from this study are expected to contribute to the process of change which is in the pilot phase.
