Universities are educational institutions where scientific information is produced, developed and used, and universities are one of the important factors that influence the development of the region that the country develops.Universities are institutions that are disconnected from society and are connected to political, social, and cultural structures to a large extent. Universities were perceived only as higher education institutions. But today, universities are an important element of economic growth and development. University students are the decision makers and practitioners in the economic and social life. These and similar perceptions of university students, especially those who are in the future of society, need to be examined further. The aim of the study is to determine the perceptions of the Bulent Ecevit University (BEU) students about the contribution of the university to socio-cultural, economic and regional opportunity equality and to show how these perceptions vary according to their demographic characteristics. In this context, Bülent Ecevit University (BEU) provides students who study at four faculties located in the central campus (Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS), Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Theology, Engineering Faculty) Questions about perceptions of contribution to equality were asked through the questionnaire with Likert scale and their results were analyzed by statistical hypothesis tests.According to the results of the survey, the university's statements on the contribution to regional opportuni- ties have shown that the vast majority of students have expressed an unstable or negative opinion. When the perceptions of the students about the socio-cultural effects of the students in the city are evaluated in general, it turns out that more than half of the students think of artistic and cultural life together with the social life in the city. Approximately 70% of the students declare that the university is integrating with the city and that they think that it will bring a modern and libertarian atmosphere to the city by positively affecting the city. Moreover, 67.1% of the students stated that the university brought vitality to the economic life of the city and that about 80% of the students' spending increased the income of the craftsmen. In the perceptions of the university on the socio-cultural and economic effects of the individual and the city as a whole, it is seen that the students respond positively.
