There are many different communities in the world. Philosophers who researched why societies are different explained this with the societies' different cultures. Culture is a multi-faceted concept and it has created different effects in different societies with many elements such as geography and climate, religious belief, world view, economic and social structure. Throughout history, studies on culture-space have been of great importance both for understanding the past and shedding light on the future. The number and versatility of the studies carried out in this direction continues to be the guide for future designs in terms of construction methods and materials. Therefore, the concept of culture is very important in this field. The versatility of the concept extends the field of research considerably in the context of culture-design-space . In this study, national and international theses examining the relationship between culture and space and also interior designs are examined using key concepts determined from various databases. The concepts have been chosen in such a way as to reveal the researches and thesis investigating the spatial reflections of culture or its impact on space designs. The aim of the research is to reveal the academic studies in the field of interior architecture that examine the space designs within the concept of culture, in terms of subject, area, scope, frequency and method. Second purpose is to identify deficiencies on the subject both at global and national scale, by presenting similarities and differences in national and international studies. The aim of the research is to present the academic studies, that deal with interior design in the context of the concept of culture in terms of subject, scope, frequency, method and to specify these studies' deficiencies. According to the findings and results obtained at the end of the research, the study is thought to contribute to the literature. The main objective of the study is to provide the basis for the studies to be conducted in this field with the suggestions made according to the findings and to be a guide in terms of subject, content and method
