THE NAMES AND SPECIALITIES OF COLOURS IN TURKEY’S TURKISH

The number of the detailed and article-formed studies on the concept of colour are only a few in today’s current Turkish of Turkey that owns a rich and vivid culture of colours. Especially writing form and generally the number of the names of colours that wrote by possesive î for years in the written sources and guides of writing on the kind of dictionary is differance. The number of colours in the Turkish of Turkey hasn’t very clearly been determined. For this reason in working is used The Dictionary of Turkish that is finally published, and is dealt with the origins of their as be determinig the names of colours that is used in the proverbs and idioms differently from other studies that is prepared this matter, beside the dictionary of collection as well. The intensive adjectives and verbalizations used for naming colours haven’t been taken care of throughout this study. Meanwhile the numbers of colours have been discussed and the names of colours used in current dialects and standard language have been determined by means of dictionaries. Furthermore the use of proverbs and idioms have been studied and the lack of a complete dictionary for Turkey’s Turkish has been uttered.
