In this article, firstly historical process, causes and consequences of the of rihlas performed for the purpose of teaching, learning and compiling hadiths are mentioned. The reasons for the hadith students going on science journeys and the contribution of the people to the development of the hadith science were determined. In the second part of the article, it has been tried to determine the rihla which was carried out at the longest distance. As a result of this in the period of rihlas, muhaddis Abu’l-Esbag Abdulaziz b. Abdulmalik b. Nasr alAndalusian (d.365/976) who was born in the city of Cordoba in Andalusia and also died in Bukhara the has been determined to be the one who made the longest known journey of science.
