THE INVESTIGATION INTO THE ATTITUDES OF STUDENTS WITH VOCATIONAL MUSIC EDUCATION TOWARDS THE MUSICAL HEARING COURSE

In this study, the attitudes of students of Musical Sciences in Faculty of Fine Arts and Music Education in Fine Arts Education Department of Kâz?m Karabekir Faculty of Education in Ataturk University towards the musical hearing course were aimed to be discovered. The study is important for determining the attitudes of the students in the institutions providing vocational music education towards the musical hearing course. The study was designed in the relation survey model, one of the descriptive research methods depending on quantitative data supported qualitatively; the attitude scale was used as a data collection tool. In the study, it was concluded that students’ attitudes were generally positive. According to the data obtained from the tests, it was seen that the attitude scores of the students differed according to the faculty they studied and the attitude scores of the students of the faculty of education were higher than the students of the faculty of fine arts. It was found that the attitudes of the students on the basis of the items did not differ according to age, class and performed music genre variables, and on some items, it differed according to the gender, graduated high school, current faculty, instrument and mainly listened music genre variables. When the responses of the participating students to the attitude scale were examined on the basis of items; according to the gender variable, it was found that female students considered musical hearing more necessary than male students and thought that the course contributed to other courses. According to the high school variable; It was concluded that students who graduated from fine arts high school thought that the music education without musical hearing lesson would be insufficient and they were more successful than the students who graduated from other high schools
