THE INSTRUCTOR’S REMARKS ON THE TURKISH MUSIC THEMES IN THE VIOLA TEXTBOOK OF FINE ARTS HIGH SCHOOL

The aim of the study is to determine the Instructor’s remarks on the Turkish Music themes in the 9th grade viola textbook of Fine Arts Highschool (FAH). The study is a descriptive field survey. The relevant data have been collected via semi structured interview form which was improved in line with the experts’ opinions. 22 viola instructors compose the sample group of the study who are staffed and perform duty in the FAH that provide training for music education in 55 provinces throghout Turkey. It has been concluded that with regards to the study findings the FAH Instructors think with respect to the topics of Turkish Music in the 9th grade viola textbook; the content is inadequate, the modaletudes and pieces are not functional, the assesment and evaluation studies are not sufficient, the courses of the modes are inadequate, the traditional attitude in instruction of modes are disapproved, modaletudes and pieces are few in number
