Newspapers which are instruments for disseminating the ideas to large masses in different societies, became a part of social life since their establishment and they always drew the interests of people as news source. As for west-originated novel, although it entered to our literature afterwards, gained a good seat in the society. Ahmet Mithat Efendi who is one of the precursors of our literature, demonstrated the contribution of these two genres to each other by blending them in his novel named Esrar-? Cinayet. Posterier detective novelists followed him and they used the newspaper as an important component in their novels. Many writers got after him; although more than a hundred years passed, they proceeded to imitate him. One of his imitated examples is retaliation event which he used to indicate that the performer never gets away with the thing that he done
