Author(s): Bekir ÖĞRETİCİ

Mosques had a great role in the development of Islamic culture and civilization. Since the early periods of Islam, mosques have not only maintained their religious, political and administrative activities, but also made significant contributions to educational services. However, looking at the mosque services offered today, it should be recognized that educational activities are limited with sermon and khutbah. Furthermore, the potential participants in these reduced activities are male-adult portion of the congregation; and young people do not benefit from these services. In recent years, in-mosque youth meetings have been organized by the Presidency of Religious Affairs, for young people to benefit from mosque education services. In this study, it is aimed to find answers to the questions about what the project is and what it covers. As a result, it was seen that the project produced positive results, the people involved in the project cared about the project and the project contributed positively to the development of young people. However, due to the fact that it is a newly implemented project, it has been concluded that there will be benefits in eliminating a number of problems in practice.
