THE IMPACT OF CINEMA/FILM SERIES ADAPTATIONS ON READING TENDENCIES OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

The aim of this research is to identify the impact of movies and TV series adaptation from World and Turkish literature on reading motivation of university students who are studying in the Turkish Language and Literature Department. By a questionnaire which was applied to 100 university students in the first and fourth class. it is disclosed to how movies and TV series adaptations affect the reading trend of these two groups. For the research a survey has been developed. Data frequency and percentage values have been presented. At the end of the research, it’s been found that book adaptation movies have an impact on fourth class students’ reading habits much more than first class students.
