Cinema films and television series represent the most developed style of expression that beginning with word and going on with writing. Thanks to the films and television series, it has been added visuality to the word and writing, thus, the scenes that the tellers of the traditions of oral and written timely try to animate in their mind, have been wrapped to be a living state accompany to actors and visual effects. It has been profitted by the possibilities of the expressions that presenting of the cinema and television which qualifies as the eight art, by the aim of the transfer of the elements that forming the traditional culture, and has been transmitted much more effectively to the human who dignesses gradually from listening and reading by means of the elements proper to the traditional culture that cinema films, television series and cartoons. It has been profitted by the cinema and television which can address to the milions of people at the same time for the purpose of updating the tradition and expressing and transferring the cultural identity. In this study, it has been discussed that how much the function of expressing and transferring of cultural identity of the cinema succeeded in 2011 production Turkish comedy and adventure film “Sümela’a Code: Temel” after having been informed about the concepts of cinema and cultural identity. The film “Sümela’s Code: Temel” which has a fiction as a local joke cast which belongs to the region of the Black Sea and as a place which is Trabzon, has stressed frequently to the cultural identity of the region in humorous fiction.
