THE EVALUATION OF 5th GRADE TURKISH COURSE BOOKS WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF DIGITAL LITERACY

The aim of the study is to evaluate the secondary school 5th grade Turkish course books (guide book, course book and workbook) in the context of digital literacy. To attain this goal, document analysis method is used in the study. Document analysis includes the analysis of the written materials that give information about case/s targeted to be researched. The data, which, consist of the 5th grade Turkish course books (guide book, course book and workbook set) published in 2016 by the Ministry of National Education, form the sampling of the research. The document analysis is conducted according to the key words determined on the course book in the sampling. The frequency use of the words and places they have been used are determined. The findings are analysed through qualitative data analysis techniques and are presented in the tables. As a result of the research, it was determined that the most computer (f = 46), then technology (f= 19), internet (f= 13) and media (f= 10) concepts were passed in 5th grade Turkish textbooks. It is thought that the final results will give a light to the studies about the field of Turkish course books and literacy.
