THE EFFECT OF WORK STRESS ON EMPLOYEES’ WORK FLOW EXPERIENCE

The study aims to explore the effect of work stress on work flow experience which is highly popular researched area in positive psychology. In the study have tested the relationaship between work stress and dimensions of work flow as absorption, work enjoyment and intrinsic work motivation. In order to accomplish this research 120 surveys have been collected from academic personnels who study inb social sciences from Aegean and Mediterranean Regions in Turkey. Confirmatory factor analysis, exploratory factor analysis, correlation, simple linear regression and independent sample t test analyzes were used for assesment the data. The result of the analyszes showed that work enjoyment and intrinsic work motivation dimensions of work flow experience have significant negative relationship with work stress. It has been found that there is a significant difference between academicians who have experienced work flow in the last two weeks and those who have not.
