THE DYNAMISM OF THE GROUP OF VIOLENCE: PKK (PYD; YPG, KCK, PEJAK, JPG)

Abstract

Author(s): Recep CENGÄ°Z

If almost all the social science fields including history, sociology and political science related to ethnic violence are examined, violence would be understood as a heterogeneous, multi-factual, and sociological phenomenon. In the history of the world, dispersal of Ottoman society, bloody unraveling of Yugoslavia and dispersal of Soviet Union are typical examples of conflicts which consist of such nationalist ethnic violence in the late history. Kurds differ from Turks only in comparison with language; have lived with Turks in Anatolia nearly a millennium time. Raison d’être of characteristics of Kurds in politicized world has been turned a preventative and blocking movement against rising power of Turkey. Similarly, ethnic separatist Kurdish movement discussed in USA and the EU countries has developed and awaken as a new wave of nationalist violence based on ‘faction’ and ‘discourse’. This study will discuss how USA and the EU countries have taken advantages of PKK (PYD, YPG, KCK, PEJAK, JPG) organization, which mainly consists of Kurds and uses ethnic violence, against Turkey.
