THE DETERMINATION OF SOCIAL SKILL LEVELS OF UNIVERSTY STUDENTS IN DIFFERENT SPORTS BRANCHES

The purpose of this study was to determine socials kill levels of athletes whose sport branches were different. The 273 university student joining to this study and playing at amateur sport clubs consisted of soccer players, volleyball players, wrestlers, taekwondo athletes and basketball players (n = 273).

The mean total point of social skill inventory (278,36 ± 21,99 ), DA sub-scale (45,65 ±5,18), DD sub-scale (46,63 ± 7,87 ), DK sub-scale (45,11 ± 5,45 ), SA sub-scale (46,01 ± 7,49), SD sub-scale (45,44 ± 6,99 ) and SK sub-scale (49,41 ± 6,14) for all athletes were determined. According to consequences of study, it was determined that soccer, volleyball and basketball players, wrestlers and taekwondo athletes were similar interms of social skill levels. Interms of post-hoc test results of meanpoints of sensory verbalism sub-scale, significiant differences between volleyball and basketball players, basketball players and takwondo athletes, wrestlers and taekwondo athletes were determined.
