“THE DECONSTRUCTION OF REDESIGN OF MIDDLE EAST: AN ANALYSIS ON GREATER MIDDLE EAST PROJECT”

Importance of Middle East region have more increased for the Western countries in the new world order that appeared on the focus of the prevention of international terrorism after the September 11 attacks. In this context "The Partnership for Improvement and a Common Future with Northern Africa Region and Expanded Middle East” which is known as "Greater Middle East Project" has been presented as a plan which was redesigned of the region in terms of universal concepts such as democracy, human rights. There are both of negative ideas which claim that the project is a plan in order to get region’s natural resources such as oil and positive ideas which claim that the project will bring democracy to the Middle East about the project. In this study aims to appear what does say the project via the documents and the theoretical dimensions of project and discuss the position of Turkey.
