Gördüs and its vicinity has been settlement place since ancient times. Gördüs was one of the districts of Saruhan Sanjak and also it is the name of the city in central position of this district. In this period Gördüs district was neighboring to Adala, Demirci, Kayac?k districts. In our study characteristics of Gördüs belonging to XVI century such as socio-economic structure, demography, foundation were analyzed in the light of cadastral record books, changes and developments within the century were expressed comparatively. It is seen that the city has 4 streets in 1531 and seven streets in 1575. However, although the number of streets increased, there was a decrease in population which makes us think that the old streets were split up. In the city architectural works such as mosque, prayer room, zawiyah and personnel assigned for these places served in the body of foundations. There was small economic buoyancy in Gördüs city where there is no great economic activity.:
