THE AWARD LEVELS OF GRAPHICS PROCESSING SKILLS THE SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS İN SOCIAL STUDIES LESSONS

This study was designed to determine seventh grade students' level of gaining the skill to preparing graphics. Data needed for research were obtained from 136 students in seventh grade of the 3 primary schools in the centers of Ad?yaman and 1 village school of Ad?yaman province. The study conducted by the survey method was analyzed by statistical program. While, for the questions about students' skill to preparing graphics for each question was looked up the f and % value; for the sex and type of school variables t-test was applied for independent groups in the data. In the survey results, students' general skills to preparing graphics are under 25% (22.3%). Even if they guess right (line graph 29.4%) to which graphics convert the given data; their rates of converting this data to a graphic decrease as low as 3.7%. Students are most successful in pie chart but rate is 17.6%. While Students' skill to preparing graphics showed no significant differences by gender, students studying in the city center were found to be significantly more successful than those of the village school students.
