THE ATTRIBUTION OF ABSOLUTE INTO CONDITIONAL IN ISLAMIC LAW METHOD

Abstract

Author(s): Rifat USLU

As is known, the main resources of Islamic Law are Qur’an and Sunnah passages. Understanding these passages depends on knowing Arabic language effectively. It is impossible to decide on an issue without knowing what a word means, does it have a metaphoric or real meaning in the place used. Therefore, methodologists give place to language rules which can help themselves while deciding on an issue. In terms of meaning, words (lafz) consist of four main parts which are particular (has), common (âmm), joint (mü?terek), gloss (müevvel). In “particular” (has) words, there are some issues like command, prohobition, absolute and conditional. One of the main controversial issues in Islamic Law is the attribution of absolute into conditional. In this study, we will describe absolute and conditional initially, then discuss on attribution issue.
