Dialects have been exposed to standard language very much because of the use of standard language in education and writing. A dialect that can not resist this situation may disappear in the standard language. It is possible to prevent the dialects from disappearing by determining the oral presence in the mouths and by spreading oral use in literary works. Within the works of Fakir Baykurt are the elements of dialect. In this respect, the works of Baykurt are significant. In the study, the work of Fakir Baykurt's The Amity of Irazca, the vernacular phrases, proverbs, repetitive groups, slang, oath and vulgar words and local pronunciations of Burdur's dialect were identified and their dialect features were emphasized. A large part of Burdur’s dialect, which is not found in written sources, are thought to contribute to the Turkish language.
