Written in 12th century Maqamat of Hariri is one of the most substantial work in early Islamic miniature painting. The importance of the work is primarily based upon two matters. One of them is the work has found favour with its number of copies which great number of them have illustrations. In fact, a large number of illustrated manuscripts of the work which have totally more than one thousand miniatures mostly form 13-14th centuries have reached the present day. The other matter about the work is its revelation about social life of the period and geography with an extensive perspective. Especially communal relations, life styles, appearance of people and architectural executions about the period can be analysed in detail by images in the illustrated manuscripts. Almost all miniatures in the known illustrated manuscripts of the work were broadly researched by Oleg Grabar. Some miniatures of the Maqamat manuscript registered in Suleymaniye Library, Esad Efendi 2916, neither they were attached to his study by Oleg Grabar nor published at all on the grounds that they had been damaged, have been analysed and submitted to the world of knowledge in this study
