Author(s): Serpil MENTESE

Environmental degradation has shown itself in human age. However, the impact of human beings on environmental degradation has increased continuously from past to present. In the early periods of human beings, environmental degradation was not so great, so the environment had the opportunity to renew itself. However, along with enlightenment, industrialization and technological developments, environmental degradation has reached high levels, and the environment has added new ones to the old without the opportunity to renew itself. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the soil, water and air pollution from a theoretical point of view in terms of environmental sustainability. As a result, it is necessary for sustainable life and natural environment using and protecting soil, water and air resources without disruption that are vital for the continuation of life. For this reason, natural resources need to be used, conserved and planned in a sustainable way.
