SOCIO–SPATIAL SEGREGATION OF HIGH INCOME GROUPS “THE CASE OF ANGORA HOUSES IN BILKENT ANKARA”

In this study socio-spatial segregation of high income groups will be examined in the example of Bilkent, Angora Evleri. Segregation, social stratification, structures of segregation, and its explicit and implicit effects to the urban space and to urban-dwellers, their new consumption patterns in urban area will be examined with theoretical framework and past-present examples. After finishing the theoretical framework research, with the light of diagnosis, questionnaires will be sent out in the chosen area, where the high income groups live in Ankara. With the findings of survey, which made in the sampling area, how this sampling group participates to socio-spatial segregation will be explicated. Spatial choices, behaviours in the city and consumption habits of this group will be examined, and also effects of urban policies will be analysed to segregation in the city and to the sampling group.
