The social work profession focuses on issues that concern individuals, groups, and society. In its works, it carries out practices by paying attention to its own ethical principles. Social workers carry out micro, mezzo and macro level practices in their work. Micro practices focus on individual and family, mezzo practices focus on group, organization and community and macro practices focus on society, social policy and social change. There is a goal of social justice at the core of the social work practices. Social workers benefit from advocacy activities for achieving social justice. Advocacy is defined as the representation of individuals and groups to protect or improve their resources. Advocacy activities refer to all of the regular, systematic and purposeful activities to ensure social justice. Social justice is defined as the equal distribution of opportunities and resources, and in the absence of equality and justice than it is defined as the providing of the equality. Social justice advocacy refers to the efforts made to ensure that all individuals in a society have equal opportunities. In this context, the place of social justice advocacy in the social work profession is wondered. This study focused on the concepts of social work and social justice advocacy. Drawing a general framework by emphasizing the common aspects of social work and social justice advocacy was tried.
