SOCIAL CHANGE FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF SOME PROMINENT CONTEMPORARY SOCIOLOGISTS

This study focuses on contemporary theories explaining social change. The thoughts of the following thirteen sociologists, who have important impact on the issue, were used during the examination of social change. These are Parsons, Sorokin, Merton, Dahrendorf, Bourdieu, Giddens, Smelser, Alexander, Habermas, Beck, Bauman, Cohen, and Baudrillard. From their perspectives, social change was handled and told comprehensively in the study. Only primary sources belonging those thirteen contemporary sociologists were used in this work.
