Sinop, which has been strategically important throughout history, is a port city with its historical, geographical, and cultural location. Its settling and conservation have had a prominent place for Turks. The importance of the district for marine transportation and its being passageway have been important to harbor various ethnic groups. In addition, tough surface features have prevented the interaction with external groups and have provided to secure native dialect. The importance given to Anatolian dialects has been expanded recently and research has gained momentum. However, there are various other native dialects waiting to be worked on. For this, we tried to provide information on Sinop’s native dialects which have not been comprehensively studied.
