The concept of “Serh” formed around text explanation and work of “critique” aimed at evaluating the text by their positive and negative aspects occupy an important place in classical Turkish literature. Therefore it is necessary that the serh methods be known in order to understand the classical Turkish literature and evaluate its texts. And this will happen by way of analysing and evaluating texts reflecting classical serh methods.
Meslekü’l-Ussâk eulogy of Sar? Abdullah Efendi, which is known as “ârih-i Mesnevî” in Turkish literature is important as it reflects dervish order and transfers the phylosophy of sufism of Bayrami-Melami school. n this article some insights into serh tradition in classical Turkish literature were given on condition that the limits of the article not be crossed. It was tried to present that how La’lî-zâde Abdulbâkî serh the Meslekü’l-Ussâk eulogy of Sar? Abdullah Efendi which is very important in forming Tukish phylosophy of sufism. Furthermore it was tried to determine the place of La’lî-zâde serh in Turkish serh tradition by giving the historical prosedure of serh method in Turkish literature. Transcripted text of the first three beyt having characteristic aspects of serh text were given and the text components he put forward were stated. K
