Objective of this research is to analyze Dede Korkut Tales in terms of Transactional Analysis Theory and to determine three ego state in behaviors of heroes in tales does exist or not. Document analysis technique through qualitative research techniques is being used in this research. Two of the tales of Dede Korkut have been selected and analyzed in accordance with ego states in Transactional Analysis Theory. In conclusion of the research, the point of to which characteristics and features should heroes in tales have in terms of being a model to the child has been revealed. Research has been concluded as follows; heroes having abilities such as “problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making” especially prefer ego state. This reality should be taken into consideration while choosing heroes to be a model for the child.
