SCHOPENHAUER INFLUENCES IN HÜSEYN RAHM GÜRPINAR’S IPSEVD NOVEL

In this article, Schopenhauer influences in Hüseyin Rahmi Gürp?nar’s ?psevdi novel will be dealt with. The parallel between the worldview of the main characters in the novel and Schopenhauer’s philosophy will be analyzed under five titles: positivism and naturalism, struggle in nature, pessimism, reaction against social institutions (morality, marriage, religion, etc.). The similarity between world of the novel’s main protagonist Meftun Bey, and Schopenauer’s philosophy are to such an extent that one cannot help but acknowledge the enormous influence of Schopenhauer on the general discourge of ?psevdi.
