The ability to conduct research is one of the most important qualifications teachers should have in today's educational environments. Teachers; They play an important role in providing students with the skills of researching, questioning and making sense of information. Establishing the science curriculum based on research and inquiry highlights the position of science teachers in transferring these skills to students. Therefore, it will be important to determine the research literacy skills of science teachers. In this regard, determining the skill levels of science teachers regarding research literacy constitutes the aim of this study. Based on this aim, the working group was formed by a total of 25 science teachers working in private and public schools in Istanbul. In the determination of the study group, the criterion sampling type, one of the purposeful sampling methods, was used, and the active volunteer graduate science teachers were selected during the research process. The research was carried out using the instant scanning model. The "Research Literacy Skills Scale of Teachers", which was prepared to determine the research skills of teachers, was used as a data collection tool in the study. The data obtained in line with the answers given by science teachers to the data collection tool were transferred to the SPSS statistical package program, and the frequency and percentage distributions of the data were calculated. In addition, the average scores of science teachers were determined. As a result of the research, it was determined that the research literacy skill levels of science teachers were at medium level. In addition, it was determined that the teachers had the least score in the method knowledge level and had difficulties in the method knowledge level during the research. In the context of the study data, it is recommended to increase the research literacy skills of science teachers and to eliminate existing knowledge gaps.
